Oulton Park - Great pace for Halfords Racing with Cataclean at Oulton
Flash set the pace with 3 top 10 finishes, whilst Dan fell prey to a 2nd race clash. Qualifying on Saturday saw both drivers at the top of the times for most of the period, with Dan and Flash trading places throughout the session. Flash eventually qualified in P8 with Dan just in front of him in 6th.
Race 1 - Dan made a poor start which was capitalised on by Flash who proceeded to move forward through the pack and would eventually finish in 3rd position. Unfortunately contact with Morgan towards the end of the race saw Flash receive a 3-grid position penalty which moved him back to 6th overall. After a poor start Dan proceeded to try and make amends, but in the highly competitive top 10 he had to fight for all he was worth, bringing the car home in the points in 9th place.
Race 2 - Dan was involved in an incident early in the race and had to pit to have his air intakes cleared of grass and debris which curtailed his race and he ended up in 26th position. Flash, now starting from 6th on the grid, had a race long battle with Dan Cammish and finally pulled off an awesome overtake into Island Bend to claim 5th place and another good haul of points.
Race 3 - Dan charged his way from the back of the grid at the start and was fortunate to miss a huge accident involving Colin Turkington and Dan Lloyd early on, pushing through to an incredible 12th position come the chequered flag. Flash equally had a great race, dicing with Josh Cook throughout and finishing just off the podium in P4 for the final race of the day.
Flash added
"I have to be happy with those results, it was a shame about the coming together in Race 1 as I felt I had the legs down the straight on Morgan, but we showed the pace of the car this weekend and to come away with 34 points is great and brings me back up to 6th in the Championship" Dan commented
"Not the greatest weekend for me, unfortunately if you get fired off in Race 2 that is pretty much your day done, but I was pleased with our pace today and that was shown in Race 3. Anyway, regroup now for Croft in two weeks' time!"
