Knockhill - Highs and lows for both Halfords Racing with Cataclean drivers
Pace was unfortunately curtailed by bad luck at the Scottish Circuit.Free Practice had looked promising with both drivers posting Top 10 times. Qualifying however didn't quite go to plan with both challengers not being able to stitch together their ultimate fastest lap, Flash finished up 13th with Dan just ahead of him in 11th.
Race 1 - Flash and Dan both made great starts and Flash started to move up the order. Dan picked up damage from early contact on lap 1 which bent the exhaust filling the car full of smoke, so he had to pit to fix the situation. After re-joining several laps down Dan ended up in 28th. Flash had some awesome tussles, latterly with his brother-in-law Rory, eventually passing him to finish in 7th place.
Race 2 - Both drivers pushed hard in race 2 and Dan made up an incredible 13th places to finish 15th. Flash again had race long battles. moving up the order and finally bringing the car home in 5th place.
Race 3 - Following the reverse grid draw, Flash would start Race 3 in third position, again he got a great start but coming into the second corner an optimistic overtake by Ingram would see Flash shuffled down to 7th. With damage from being hit Flash was then war wounded but kept on pushing and ended the race in P6. Dan fought hard in the mid pack, moving up and down the order to finally cross the line in P13.
Flash added
"Usually I'd be happy with those results, but race 3 was compromised for me by Ingram, I felt I had the pace in the car to move forward, but that incident caused me to run into another car and the ensuing damage then prevented me from really pushing on! But we have shown the car is strong and we have to just keep pushing on now until the end of the season..." Dan commented
"If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck! The car felt good, and we were confident we would have the race pace, but unfortunately it was not to be and once you are at the back of the grid here it is really difficult to overtake, but I gave it my all and grasped a handful of points. I can't wait to get out at Snetteron now and see if I can change this run of back luck!"
