Brands hatch Indy - A challenging weekend for Halfords Racing with Cataclean
Changing conditions proved a challenge for the team and drivers over the weekend.Qualifying on Saturday was difficult with the session interrupted by red flags. In the finality Dan qualified in 10th position with Flash in 11th.
Race 1 – Gordon got a great start and instantly began to push forward, unfortunately Dan got pushed down the order and had to fight back through the pack. In slippery conditions Flash tip-toed his way up to 8th position at the finish with Dan two places behind him in 10th.
Race 2 - Dan had technical gremlins before the start and unfortunately did not start the race. Flash again got this head down and managed to fight his way up to 6th at the chequered flag.
Race 3 – Dan had to start from the back of the grid and drove a superb race to eventually finish in 22nd. Flash was involved in a number of battles which meant he got shuffled down the order and from P7 to finish P11 at the end.
Dan added
"A frustrating weekend for me, I made a poor start in Race 1 and that dropped me down the order, then with the technical issues in Race 2 that was really my day over, anyway onwards and upwards to Oulton Park now" Flash commented
"The car felt strong all weekend, but it is so competitive across the grid this year, two get two top ten finishes I have to be happy with from where I started the day, but Race 3 just got caught out in the traffic and ended up fighting for 11th place! Oulton Park is next and a circuit that I love, its similar in ways to Knockhill, so we’ll be all guns blazing there!"
